IT’S TIME! A New Year, New Goals, and An Award! The wonderful service the Philippine Chapter has been providing in the form of giving legal representation has started spreading and has led to the Philippine Chapter becoming the recipient of this year’s Franklin S. Richards Public Service Award. I couldn't believe it. I was seriously dumbfounded when I read the email, but I am not surprised that we won! Franklin S. Richards Pro Bono/Community Service Award Through the Franklin S. Richards Pro Bono/Community Service Award, the Law Society seeks to honor members who epitomize the virtues the Society espouses by providing service to the poor, the needy, and the disadvantaged. The award’s namesake, Franklin S. Richards, was appointed as the first General Counsel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in January 1880. The Starfish "An old man was walking along the beach.In the distance he saw someone who seemed to be dancing along the waves. As he got closer, he saw a woman picking up starfish and tossing them back into the ocean. "What are you doing?" The old man asked. "The sun is coming out.If I don't throw them in they will die".
